A few days ago I received an e-mail from
KnitPicks saying that their DPN needles were 18% off, being all money savvy , I ordered some. I mean it would be irresponsible to
not to order some. Now as you know I usually get my needles from The Almighty Hobby Lobby because they carry the sizes I need and they are cheeeeeep. Which suits me just fine, cause you know, so am I. Anyway, I ordered the needles and have been waiting impatiently ever since the 24th of September. I personally checked the mailbox yesterday
afternoon and there was nothing, and
I mean nothing. This
morning Superman showed up with this box and was like "oh hey, do you know what this
KnitPicks thing is?" I was watching
the fabulous
Kelly Rippa , so I wasn't looking in his general direction, so I said yeah, it's that company that hasn't sent me my needles yet (to be fair, they do state 5-14 days) and it's been like 2 years since I ordered them (I can be a
bit dramatic).
Then it hit, this very sexy fellow knows I'm waiting for needles, but there is no way that he would pull the name KnitPicks out of thin air. So I looked at him and asked "why?" and he says "oh, no reason" with that slightly crooked smile he gets when he's being mischievous. Then I knew, so lunged at him and wrestled him to the ground, we struggled and my silk negligee tore at the thin strap on my shoulder.....
Wait no, that's not true, I did in fact lunge at him, but he's kinda scared of my so he just tossed me the box before I could bite him. Oh and I was wearing an old t-shirt of his and some really un-sexy shorts and my hair was kinda you know...not harnessed. I have the high suspicion that this dude took all the mail yesterday and has been hiding the needles ever since, but we will discuss that later.
I tore the box open and then I wept...I grabbed some
STR and began a swatch, it was my first swatch ever, it was good.
I ordered the 2.25mm, 2.75mm (2 sets), and the 3.25mm (US 1,2, & 3)
I love them, and I will be getting some circs soon. Because y'all, they're awesome. My good buddy Chrisy, is to blame.
Remember how she spoiled me way back in July, when she sent 2 sets of the
Harmony circular needles, and I've been hooked ever since. I had always resisted getting the DPNs because they are only 6 inches long, and well, I need at least 7 inches. Otherwise I feel like my stitches are going to fall off the other end. But I guess my knittin' skillz have improved because I didn't feel that way this time. Also , for all my fellow cheap-skat...erm.. money savvy knitters, the total for these
4 sets was $20.95 and that
includes shipping, that makes them .50 cents cheaper than the
Susan Bates (which I still adore for their 7 inch-ness), that I get a Hobby Lobby, although to be fair I've gotten my last 10 (give or take) sets for less than a dollar cause they were moving stuff around and had put all the DPNs on clearance,
remember.
That's all for now y'all cause the gurlies have early dismissal today so I better
do something.
