It's has to be some sort of syndrome...

My second goal in life is to live a life of no regrets. This goal is so strong in my mind that it keeps me from giving up on anything or anyone without knowing beyond the shadow of a doubt, that my only choice is to give up. It is also so strong, that I let this much knitting happen...

before I accepted that these socks would not fit the intended recipient. Nothing left but to rip it out.

I love the sock, I do. But I love my sister more and at it's current gauge and stitch count this sock would cut off the circulation in her leg. And although her favorite color is purple, I can bet my stash that she would NOT appreciate this hue as her actual skin tone. Call it hunch if you will.

I'm sorry little eggplant sock, but no worries, there is still hope. I will undo you, and bring you back as a 56 st sock and all will be well.

Be safe, Be good.

5 months

This is the longest I have ever spent with an existing UFO. My normal plan of action is to frog anything that doesn't hold my attention long enough to get finished. But it was something I just couldn't do to these socks, every time I felt like I should frog I ended up knitting a few rows instead. I kept falling in love with the yarn all over again. I received the yarn in December during our knit night's yearly Festivus gift exchange and I think this is the attraction to the yarn, it reminds me of my dear knitting friends, those that still attend knit night and those that have moved away.
That is why I couldn't frog and that is why I love them so much. They are cheerful, they are warm and they fit like...socks!
Just like my knitting friends, well except that my knitting friends aren't sock shaped.
It may have taken me 5 months to finish this pair, but it also took me 3 years this past April to cultivate the wonderful friendships I have with my knitting homies.
Be safe, Be good.
