Fresh start

Seeing how as of late the knitting fates have arranged it so that all my knitting is either difficult to manage or absolutely impossible to achieve or just plain looks like barf, I have decided that maybe it's just a way of being told to start anew.
So that is what I'm doing. I'm not very big on the giving up , but since most of my efforts are being constantly stopped into oblivion and making me want to light up the fireplace and toss in the knitting, I think giving up is a pretty good idea. I'm not giving up completely just putting stuff on hiatus. Putting them on timeout and allow us both a time to cool the hell off.
So, out with the old in with the new.

( As I was setting up this shot, my neighbor was going out the door and he was talking on his cell phone. He stands there and stares at me looking utterly stunned, then I heard him say "oh yeah, I'm here. My neighbor lady is putting thread in the bushes again")

I pulled out the swift and the ball winder and went to town.

Excuse the mess on the couch, it's a sign of the raging case of start-itis. I'm making a scarf for my mom for mother's day. I know, I know mother's day is on Sunday, but I honestly think I can have it finished by then (famous last words). I'm making her the One Row Lace Scarf , which I think is elegant and simple and I'm using the Silky Wool for that.

The Nature's Palette is for a reincarnation of my friend Carroll's Everything But the Key Socks, which will hopefully turn out better in wool than they did in the Berroco Comfort Sock yarn. The pattern is jut too beautiful to be knit in crappy inelastic yarn.

The other project I have in mind is the Juno Regina Stole. I have several yarns in mind and I just can't decide which one to choose. The recipient would look stunning in any of these colors but I just cannot make up my mind. I'm partial to the Gloss Sock Yarn (in hanks) in the colors Burgundy and Woodland Sage, mainly because of the wonderful weight and drape that the silk adds to the yarn. But I love the color of the Palette Yarn (ball) which is very appropriately named Calypso. I think that since I can't make up my mind and I love all the colors I'm going to leave it up you all.

So shout out in the comments and I will cast on for the color that gets the most votes.

I'll go cast on my mom's scarf in the meantime, perhaps get a haircut. I'm so excited yo!

Have a great day!

I'm a big fan of silk. It just blocks out so beautifully, it would be stunning for that shawl. The burgundy Gloss is my vote.

Burgundy, definitely.

They are all beautiful yarns for a great pattern. I don't think you can go wrong! But I think I like the Woodland Sage for spring. Good luck with your mom's scarf. I recommend the haircut - I just got one myself and feel pretty!

The two blues look very similar to me, but I am ALWAYS a fan of Juno Regina in burgundy. Plus the extra shine of the silk in the Gloss will make it truly stand out.
