Doesn't get much better than this.

We spent the afternoon here: This is one of the beautiful walking gardens directly across from the George R. Brown Convention Center (that's the odd ship like thing in the background) here in Houston. If I was a more learned person Id' be able to tell you what all the flowers and plants are. All I can tell you about this particular garden is that it is indeed lovely, very well kept and maintained in the most environmentally conscious way possible. As is the rest of the park. Scratchy is seen here enjoying one of the fountains in the park. Actually she's pointing at Lily who apparently had a stick that she wanted. Kids, they'll fight over anything (actually so do adults) that isn't theirs (or is that just me?).
Here we see her running after Jess, she didn't think it was fair that she stayed behind with boring 'ol me, when she could have been running round like a wild animal. But who am I to judge.
OK, this next picture is my favorite. It's the first time I've ever gotten my mom and step dad to stand still long enough to take a picture like this. My stepdad is always a good sport and poses for pictures and actually looks quite decent, my mom on the other hand has a tendency to pose for pictures the way one would pose for a mugshot.
Don't they just look wonderful together. I warned them that they'd be blog fodder today, so they can't complain. Besides it's a really cute picture.
This one was taken right after they stopped cracking up after the series of 6,439 other shots in which one or the other looked as if they were sleepy, drunk, cross eyed, or slow.
In many of the pictures (which I do not have permission to show) they are literally dying of laughter, because I told them I'd photo shop their bodies onto random nekkid bodies (yeah I joke like that with my parents) in various objectionable poses (yes it does get worse). My mom laughs, my stepdad makes dubious comments and suggestions and I die of hysterical laughter. Good time, good times.
We had a great time. Our pik-a-nik was lovely and the weather was glorious. The kiddos had a great time and were properly exhausted, now I just have to figure out what today's adventure will be. Ugh! When all this is over I'm getting a commemorative hank of yarn with a plaque that says "I survived Spring Break 2009". I deserve it. Have a great day!

My friends and I refer to the George R. Brown as "The Good Ship Lollipop"
