The Changing Tide.

Remember yesterday I was going on and on about how I'm on a sock jag.

Well not anymore baby, I'm so over the whole top down short row heel stockinette sock. Yup I'm done with them all, finished, finnito, se acabo(yeah I speak Spanish).

These were the last of those: Socks for Scratchy

(Yarn:Lion Brand Sock-ease in the "Cotton-Candy" , Needles: Susan Bates 2.25mm)

I love how they turned out. And boy were they a quick knit. Okay so they are for a 3.5 in. foot, that is not the point!

So, back to the actual point. I was saying I was done with that type of sock. Yesiree bob, done. This morning I got up and I said to myself, "self, its time to move on" and that was that. I found myself a book and followed the directions and ended up with....

(Don't squirm at the yarn. Its the first sock yarn that I have found in the wild here in Houston. In the craft store, not the LYS, I'm letting them know there is a market for it. I assure you it's good stuff 75% wool-25% nylon)

you see that. That is a Toe-up, short row heel stockinette sock. Adventurous, no? Yeah I hear ya, I used an awesome book to do something sooo simple. Again, That Is Not The Point! The point is its a different direction for me. And I must say, I am quite proud of me. Its a whole "Look ma, I'm doing toe-up" moment.
So what if my mother doesn't knit and could care less. It took me a year of knitting to get the guts to try this, but I did it. Well given the fact that I've only been knitting for a year, I think its major progress. Yay me!

Hasta Tommorrow!
